Ianina Prudenko

Media art researcher, curator, cultural analyst 

Ianina Prudenko graduated from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Philosophy Department) with a Candidate of Sciences degree. Prudenko is an associate professor at the Culture Studies Department of the Dragomanov National Pedagogical University. Ianina Prudenko researches contemporary media art, curates various media art events.

Ianina Prudenko gives public lectures on the history and theory of Ukrainian media art (in Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Poland, Czech Republic). She is an author of numerous publications on the history and theory of media art, initiates and organizes lectures of international researchers of media art in Ukraine.

In 2003–2004 was a curator of the International Student Amateur Festival «Ours» (Centre for Contemporary art «Dakh»). Since 2010 has been giving lectures and doing screenings «Distorting mirror — tableaux vivants: History of Ukrainian video art in words and living pictures» in association with Centre for Contemporary Art Foundation. Since 2009 has been collaborating with Ukrainian Media Art Open Archive (within the Young Ukrainian Artist competition). Prudenko is a curator of media art school «New artistic school: media art for practitioners».
