Lizaveta German

Independent curator, researcher, art critic

Graduated and completed postgraduate studies at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, Art history department.

Through 2008–2012 as an art manager collaborated with several Ukrainian art institutions, such as Ludmila Bereznitska gallery, EIDOS arts development foundation, Art Management agency, Kyiv Sculpture Project festival.

Her own curatorial projects included Indposhyv exhibition, Artist Talks (a series of public meetings with Ukrainian artists in cooperation with Foundation Centre for Contemporary Art, Kyiv), annual one-day plein air project On the Rooftop.

German participated in the Young Curators Workshop within the 7th Berlin Biennial (2012) and in the Curatorial Platform, an internship programme of PinchukArtCentre, Kyiv (2012–2013).

German co-curated exhibitions of Konrad Smolenski and Agnieszka Polska within the Transfer. Ukrainian — Polish Exchange project, PinchukArtCentre. Since 2014 she has been collaborating with Maria Lanko on independent curatorial projects.

She is a regular contributor to Korydor magazine and Ukrayinska Pravda, recently has co-edited the Ukrainian Nonconformist Art of the 1960’s research book (prepress).

Together with the “Open Group” and Maria Lanko she cofounded media project as an instrument for longterm research of artistic practices.

Lives and works in Kyiv.
