Olga Balashova

Art historian, art critic

Olga Balashova graduated in culture management from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, completed postgraduate studies at the Philosophy Department of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with the Candidate of Sciences degree.

Olga Balashova teaches at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, is a regular lecturer at the educational public organization «Cultural project» (author of the «Media theory and practices» and «11 key questions of contemporary art» courses).

Since 2009 has been a consultant on contemporary art for the «Golden Section» auction house. In 2007–2008 took part in the creative project «Dictionary of the Khazars or Requiem for a theatre» (by the «Dictionary of the Khazars: A Lexicon Novel» of Milorad Pavić). Since has 2009 has been a member of Ubik group. In 2013 was a curator of the KYIVAIR residence’ educational program.

Olga Balashova is an art critic at the «Korydor», «Art Ukraine» and «Ukrayinska Pravda».
